PD Welch Electrical Contractors, part of the Seaking Electrical Group, is announcing a turnover surge of more than 40pc in the last 12 months. It follows a raft of contract wins in the hospitality, commercial and retail sectors.

Turnover at the PD Welch division of the Seaking Group, based inBirkenhead, rose from £900,000 to £1.3m in the 2011 calendar year.

Group Business Development Manager Neil Mellenchip said PD Welch had secured contracts in a broad range of sectors. Deals include electrical installation work for new offices at GrowHow in Ince,Cheshire, lighting schemes for the Port Arcades, Ellesmere Port, along with power and lighting installation for Finos At The Waterfront restaurant inSouthport.

"PD Welch is entering the new year on a real high after a very successful end to 2011," said Mr Mellenchip. "This gives a strong indication of the firm's ambition following its successful merger with Seaking Electrical in May 2010. We are focusing on the industrial and commercial markets working closely with a number of the region's top architects and building firms. The firm's extensive experience and expertise in electrical engineering has helped to deliver complete electrical installation solutions for a broad range of clients throughout the year. With support from Seaking, PD Welch continues to go from strength to strength."

The GrowHow contract, worth £98,000 to PD Welch, saw the firm delivering general power, sub mains and associated equipment, emergency lighting, fire alarm systems, data and telephone connections, intruder alarm and door entry systems along with CCTV networks. It was also responsible delivering a £160,000 electrical installation and design, including energy saving control, for 34 luxury apartments at the YMCA inChester, in a deal with Watkin Jones.

Further deals in 2011 with Living Ventures saw the firm carrying out full electrical installations atManchesterrestaurants Australasia andPeppermintBay.

Mr Mellenchip added: "We are delighted to be forging strong partnerships with a number of regional restaurant chains. It is proving to be a strong emerging market for PD Welch. However, the variation of fresh contracts coming in really demonstrates the versatility of the firm. With a number of other exciting deals in the pipeline in the care home and industrial sectors we are set to see even greater growth in 2012."

PD Welch work is carried out within theInstituteofElectrical Engineersregulations and incorporates the latest Construction Design Management procedures.
