Thornton completes £160,000 refurbishment

The management team at Thornton Hall Hotel and Spa has invested £160,000 in the new Lawns restaurant, which coincides with the launch of a new fine dining experience for guests.  The investment has resulted in the creation of five new full time jobs at the hotel.

Thornton Hall General Manager Geoff Dale said that The Lawns Restaurant will become the number one fine dining experience on the Wirral and in Merseyside.

Mr Dale said: “The Lawns Restaurant is already the Wirral’s only two AA Rosette winning restaurant, however, we are now ready to take it to the next level and develop the reputation as offering guests the ultimate fine dining experience.”

Mr Dale said that the launch of the fine dining experience is in response to demand from customers, who felt that the Wirral lacked a first class private dining venue.

Mr Dale added: “The Lawns Restaurant will offer guests the opportunity to sample the fine dining menus whilst the private room in the hotel’s stunning Oak Room will offer an exclusive experience with unparalleled service, perfect for a glittering social gathering, distinguished professional meeting or simply gracious private entertaining.”

The launch of the Private Dining rooms and an exquisite new menu coincides with the arrival of Executive Chef David Gillmore at Wirral’s only AA four star hotel.

David joins The Lawns from Chester’s Michelin starred Grosvenor Hotel. He has also worked at Lords of the Manor Hotel in the Cotswolds, and The Vineyard in Stockcross, Berkshire, where he helped to integrate a new menu at the hotel’s restaurant, which boasts five AA Red Stars, three AA Rosettes and one Michelin Star.
