Creative production house experiences surge in sales

A leading North West creative production house is celebrating a successful first half of the year with a 32pc increase in contract wins compared to the same period last year.

Wirral based Mills Media, founded in 1876, is one of the most established and diverse creative firms in the North West.  With 19 full time staff and more than 25 part-time staff it is one of only a handful of firms in the North to offer conference production, exhibition services, film, creative design and photography in house.

Mills Media managing director Andrew Mills said key contracts that have been completed recently for its exhibition and design department include Peel Ports, Muller, National Caravan Council, Bibby Line, TM Lewin and the ECA Group.

“We believe our strengths lie in that we offer a one stop shop of creative services with an experienced and enthusiastic team on side,” he said. “We have expanded our team this year, which has helped the business grow and launched a budget banners for business service. This has helped retain and attract new clients who may be on a tighter budget but still want a high quality design service. We have won contracts from businesses throughout the UK and are determined to keep building the business on a national and regional level.”

Andrew said he is thrilled with the businesses performance six months into 2010.“One of the main benefits of using Mills Media is that the exhibition stands are pre-built here on the Wirral,” he said. “The Peel Ports stand was 10m x 6m and pre-built in our studio, so the client could see the stand as it progressed, eliminating any problems at the NEC in Birmingham.”

Andrew said key contracts completed by its conference production service department include NUS Services, PIANC and IS Pharma.

“The conference production service has a great reputation nationally,” he said. “The NUS Services conference was a two-day event held at the Britannia Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool. We provided AV services, set and stage design for the event which included a Gala Awards Dinner. It was a great contract to be involved with”

Andrew said the photography and business TV departments have completed some major contracts including Merseyside and Cheshire Cancer Network, BMS Pharmaceuticals, Acer Marketing and Plus Dane Housing.

“We have formidable photographic experience stretching more than 100 years and we were named as a top 50 corporate video producer this year,” he said. “The demand for professional photography is high, especially with clients who invest in cross platform marketing tools such as printed material and web. Video is also becoming a key focus of businesses wanting to have an effective online promotional tool.”
