Wirral has a growing population and 64.5% of residents in the catchment area are of working age. There is a particularly young profile, with those aged under 30 accounting for 29.2% of working age population, against 27.3% regionally and 27.5% nationally. As in the wider population, the majority of people of working age are female. The largest difference occurs within those aged 30 to 39 years old - where women make up 52.2% of the population compared to 50% within the region and 50.2% in England.
