Funding from Wirral Council assisted CSM UK to relocate its head office and cookie manufacturing facilities from Milton Keynes to the company's existing manufacturing site in Bromborough and the company then opened its Innovation Centre for Frozen and Bakery Products in 2008.
The company is part of CSM, the world's largest bakery ingredients supplier and a global business of more than £2 billion. CSM UK's 1.2million sq ft premises in Wirral produces bread ingredients, cookies, cake mixes, doughnuts and soft icings. It recently re-invested in a new doughnut line at the site, retaining production in the UK rather than transferring to overseas sister companies.
